About Self-Driving AI Home Hub
The Self-Driving AI Home Hub (project code Q9) is LG Electronics' mobile smart-home agent, shown from CES 2024 through IFA and ROSCon demos. It is a roughly 30 cm tall wheeled companion with a two-legged wheel chassis, articulated leg joints for small bumps, an expressive face display, and cameras for face and scene understanding.
Official CES materials describe it as a moving ThinQ hub: patrol rooms, greet people at the door, monitor pets, check air quality and open windows or lights, and control compatible appliances and IoT devices. On-device AI uses the Qualcomm Robotics RB5 platform for face and user recognition, with multimodal voice and vision. LG also opened a ROS 2 SDK and APIs at q9.developer.lge.com for third-party apps and engineering samples.
There is still no public consumer MSRP or retail cart. CLOiD, LG's CES 2026 wheeled chore robot with arms, builds on Q9 navigation and hub ideas but is a separate catalog candidate.
