About Reachy 2
Reachy 2 is Pollen Robotics' modular humanoid for embodied AI labs. Hugging Face acquired Pollen and open-sourced the stack under Apache 2.0. Each 7-DoF arm uses patented Orbita parallel joints with about 3 kg payload. Configurations range from a single stationary arm ($70,000) to a dual-arm rig on an omnidirectional base with LiDAR ($78,000). Stereo global-shutter cameras, RGB-D depth, ToF, and spatial audio support teleoperation through Meta Quest or Pollen's VR app. The onboard SolidRun Bedrock V3000 PC runs ROS 2 Humble with a Python SDK; AI workloads typically run on a separate GPU machine. Height adjusts between roughly 136 and 166 cm. Universities including Cornell and Carnegie Mellon deploy Reachy 2 for manipulation and human-robot interaction research. It is orderable for institutions, not positioned as a consumer home robot.
