Vector 2.0 is Digital Dream Labs' refresh of the Anki Vector companion. It keeps the hamster-sized tracked body and curious personality, but adds a user-replaceable battery with roughly 30% longer runtime and a 2MP wide-angle camera aimed at better face and pet recognition. Vector maps desk space with an infrared edge sensor, recognizes faces locally, returns to its charger on its own, and plays with its included cube even without a cloud plan. Voice commands, weather, timers, knowledge answers, and ChatGPT-backed chat require a paid Vector AI subscription ($9.99–11.99/month or about $99.99/year). Alexa smart home control is built in when the service stack is active. HomeBotRadar notes DDL has had extended cloud outages that can limit setup and premium features; some owners restore functionality with community tools such as Wire-Pod.
