MIRUMI

mirumi is a clip-on charm robot from Tokyo's Yukai Engineering (makers of Qoobo and other joy-focused bots). The name blends Japanese for "look" and "plush." It hugs a bag strap or arm with soft TPU arms, then turns its head toward voices, nuzzles when petted, buries its face at loud sounds, and glances away like a shy infant.

There is no chat app and no chore mode. Behaviors come from tuned motion patterns plus a microphone and head touch sensor. Custom Japanese acrylic fur covers an ABS body in Pink, Ivory, or Gray. Size is about 10 × 11 × 14 cm and 155 g, with roughly 8 hours of use and a 2-hour USB 5V charge.

mirumi debuted at CES 2025, raised about ¥79 million from 2,000-plus Kickstarter backers, and went on sale in Japan on April 23, 2026 at ¥19,800 tax included through Tsutaya stores and store-jp.mirumi.tokyo. International rollout includes Lane Crawford Hong Kong and planned pop-ups such as Harrods.
