About LOVOT

LOVOT is a companion robot from Tokyo startup GROOVE X, founded by former Pepper lead Kaname Hayashi. It looks like a soft, penguin-like pet on omni wheels and is designed to be loved, not to vacuum or fetch groceries.

LOVOT 3.0 uses Emotional Robotics with touch sensors across its body, layered OLED eyes, a warm skin temperature, and more than 50 sensors including horn-mounted cameras for home mapping and person detection. It rolls slowly through your home, asks for hugs, and returns to its Nest charging dock when tired. A typical cycle is about 30 to 45 minutes of activity followed by 15 to 30 minutes on the dock.

GROOVE X sells LOVOT through lovot.life in Japan. LOVOT 3.0 lists at about $3,850 for the body (¥577,500 tax included, standard color) with mandatory LOVOT care from about $66 per month (¥9,900) for software updates, cloud features, and repair coordination. LOVOT 2.0 remains available from about $3,000 (¥449,900). Official sales and warranty service are Japan-first; overseas fans often use forwarding partners such as BEX for LOVOT.

HomeBotRadar tracks LOVOT because it is one of the few premium home companions sold at scale that explicitly rejects utility tasks in favor of comfort and play. Compare it with aibo or Tombot Jennie if you want a buyable emotional pet, or Loona if you need a smaller global storefront.
